SWADHA – A program on Women Self - empowerment

The Context

Women over the last few decades have seen their roles - personal, professional & social, being evolved drastically. As the genders come closer in all the senses and areas, the demarcation between men-women roles has been blurred. Quite a few stereotypes have been busted in the context of what women can/cannot do, their social standing, freedom of decision-making etc. This has made women more confident of their space and footing in the society. One can see quite a few real life ‘heroes’ who have broken all myths & stereotyping, and are today role models & a source of inspiration for others. If you taken a moment & think, there are quite a few women who have successfully balanced personal-professional-social roles, while keeping a very strong identity of themselves.

Beneath the strong, in-control surfaces though, lies quite a few stretch & stress factors. The dilemma of wanting to be excellent & high achievers at work, while playing the balancing role of a wife, mother, and daughter can be quite stressful. While it may seem it comes naturally to some, there are quite a few women in the professional world who feel overwhelmed every now & then by the expanse of responsibilities they need to shoulder, and the diverse roles they need to play.

The Program

This program has been designed to equip the women with mindsets & attitudes they can use to strike a balance between various priorities, be confident about themselves and assertive in expressing their thoughts & opinions. It will help each participant explore various dimensions within her to understand the powerhouses within and how one can tap them for that extra boost, every time there is a need. We will also explore the life cycle of each woman at the program to understand various life-stages and how she can plan & be better prepared for them.
